Mon Essentiel wood wick candles provide aromatherapeutic benefits, candle light and the soothing sound of a crackling fire. Here are a few simple tips to ensure the best burn every time:

Tip 1: Wood wick length

Your wood wick should be at an ideal length of 1/4 inch. Usually your candle will be at 1/4 inch when you buy your candle. If not, trim it to 1/4 inch before lighting. Be careful not to trim it too short.

Tip 2: Even surface

Rest your candle on a flat surface before lighting your candle.

Tip 3: Wood wick can smoke a few times initially

The wood wick might smoke 1-2 times before staying lit which is common with wood wicks.

Tip 4: An even burn

For the candle to burn evenly allow the candle wax to melt into a liquid oil pool out to all the edges of the glass jar and do not blow out the candle before this. This may take from about 30 to 60 minutes and avoids tunneling and wastage of candle.

Tip 5: Flame height

The flame height may vary at times and occasionally even appear to self-extinguish, but that’s totally fine! Even if you are experiencing a “low” flame, it will continue to heat and the flame height will return. The recommended burn time is 3-4 hours.

Tip 6: Keep away from drafts….

Keep the candle away from drafts, such as ceiling fans, air conditioners or breezes.

Tip 7: Reasons for the wood wick to smoke

If your wood wick keeps smoking, the candle may be in a draught or the wick is too long. Remove from draught and break off a very tiny piece of the burnt wood and light again.

Tip 8: Avoid moving a burning candle

Never move or handle the candle while burning. Pouring or removing liquid wax from the glass jar will cause the wick to extinguish.

Tip 9: Candle safety

For your safety the candle is designed to self-extinguish when ⅜ inch of wax remains.

Tip 10: How to benefit most from the scent?

Keep your candle lit in your room with the door closed to keep the scent in. For larger space, you might need to use 2-3 candles.

Also remember that noses can get used to smells. If you’ve had a candle lit for a long time, leave the room for a bit and come back later. Ta-da! Enjoy your amazingly scented organic “m.e” candle!
